Nurses Australia! - Assisting you with Nursing Jobs in Australia and New Zealand

All Registered Nurses in Australia must have registration to practise in their profession.  There are 8 individual Nursing Registration Boards in Australia and these are in each state and territory.  Australian Nurses Registration Boards also have a mutual recognition of registration with New Zealand. Registered Nurses must hold registration with the board in the state they wish to work.  For example, if you intend to work in Melbourne, then you need registration with the Victorian Board. Should you then move to Sydney at a later date you can transfer your registration to New South Wales. Please note: Registered Nurses are required to hold current registration before you can apply for work. Employers will require evidence of your registration or eligibility at the time of application.

The registration boards in Australia exist to ensure that practise standards are met and regulate the skills and ongoing education of the workforce.
