Northern Territory - known as the "Outback" state -  NT  located in Australia's North is a leading tourist and travel state within Australia with the capital of Darwin. NT is a great place to explore and work and can offer VERY rewarding experiences for RN's looking to undertake regional and remote work within Australia's indigenous settlements.  Some  areas of the NT are extremely remote with flying clinics or 4WD access, in the "wet" season when the tropical monsoon hits NT, some towns can be cut off via road for over 6 months!  If you want to truly experience another culture and make a difference to the lives of those less fortunate then NT might be the place for you. Sadly, many of NT's communities suffer from very poor health and education. NT  is located on the Northern  Shores of Australia and offers everything from wild gorges and rivers, outback desert, extensive wildlife, crocodiles and buffalo, extensive desert and grass land and remote and unspoilt postcard beaches. The NT is not the place for everyone but more for those seeking adventure and to test their clinical abilities. The people of the NT are known as the most friendly in Australia, you certainly won't be without company if you take up employment here.  The NT can get very hot, particularly in summer (Nov to March) and especially in the Far North which is affected by tropical monsoon weather it can have heavy afternoon rain and high humidity. 

NT offers a diverse range of professional opportunities for RN's within the government healthcare system or within the private sectors. There is also an extensive network of community and non profit nursing organisations, aged care homes and an extensive medical justice department.
